Cynthia L Haase was born in CA, but raised in and around the Omaha area. She became a Colorado "native" in 1979. When she was a young girl a neighbor gave her a box of pastels and some art books. Her life long love of art was to follow.
Finding herself being a young single mother, taking care of her family was the first priority. She entered the corporate environment as a systems programmer, analyst, staff manager and project manager in the telecommunications industry. She left in 1992 to pursue her creative passions.
Her art education has been self-directed studying with some of the best in the medium of colored pencil and pastel. Cindy studied for two years under Deborah Bays, master pastelist in atmospheric realism. Deb instilled in her a love of dramatic lighting and working with edges to create depth and atmosphere. In December 2010, she picked up an oil paint brush and began the discipline of daily painting.
Cindy volunteers her time as the national president of the Colored Pencil Society of America. She is a juried associate member of the Oil Painters of America, and a member of the American Impressionists Society and the Missouri Valley Impressionists Society. Her daily paintings can be viewed at Daily Paintworks and Daily Painters Originals.
She and fellow artist, June Davis, paint together at their Fine Art Studio, Golden Point One, in Golden, Colorado.
Cindy shares her life with her husband, Mark, two grown sons, and four grandchildren.
